"This Cadet Officer was in command of an SP MIO gun during the attack on PIEDIMONTE in support of tank and infantry from 20 May to 26 May. On the 20th May in the afternoon his detachment destroyed an enemy anti-tank gun. A few minutes later he was wounded by a splinter in the neck but remained at his post. On the 22nd May at 1030 hrs he advanced through enemy artillery and mortar fire and destroyed two MG nests and thus enabled the infantry to advance."
