Biography

Jacques Doriot was a worker at Saint-Denis and from 1916 he entered the Jeunesse Socialistes (socialist youth). He was mobilised in 1917 and became prisoner of war. In 1920, he became a member of the french communist party. In 1922 he was member of the présidium of the executive committee of the Internationale Communists and Secrétary of french communist youth federation in 1923.
In 1931 Doriot became the Mayor of Saint-Denis and was excluded from french communist party after the 6 february 1934.
He was Deputy for Seine in 1936 and founded Parti Populaire Français (PPF), a national-communist inspirated party. In early 1939 he started collaborating with the National Socialosm and became leader of collaborationnist newspaper "Le Cri du Peuple". He volunteered in 1942 for the "Légion des volontaires français contre le bolchevisme" (LVF).
