Awarded for his actions in the southern sector of Operation Citadel. On 08.07.1943 the II./Panzergrenadier-Regiment 4 launched a thrust from the SW towards Melichowo. It later played a major part in the capture of the village of Alexandrowka on 14.07.1943. Finally it participated the capture of the high ground NE of the village at Hill 241.5, riding atop of Bäke’s Panzers. Reimar presumably played an important role in the successes of the Bataillon during these battles.
