    Biography

    Erwin Dörr was born on 12th April 1914 in Bölsberg. On 1st May 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP and served in the SA from 1st May 1933 until 31st March 1934 as Oberscharführer. In April 1934 he entered the military and served until October 1934 in 13. / Infanterie-Regiment 15. Until October 1936 he served with 13. / Infanterie-Regiment 36 at Kassel. Until the end of the war he seved with 13. / Infanterie-Regiment 105, at first with 34.Infanterie-Division. In 1939 serving at the Westwall, the division was called Grenzdivision Trier. In 1939 the Regiment was transferred to 72.Infanterie-Division. Erwin Dörr then served at the Westwall, Battle for France and was stationed in Paris in October-December 1940. In 1941 he served in Rumania, the Ukrain and the Crimea. In 1943 he served in the Soviet Union (Rshew, Orel, Brjansk, Dnjepr, Kiew and Tscherkassy). On 1st April 1943 he was promoted to Leutnant. In 1944 he withdrew out of Russia, the Ukrain and ended in 1945 as POW on the Oder Front.
