    Biography

    Jackie Coogan entered military service in March 1941. After Pearl Harbor, he voluntarily transferred to the United States Army Air Force and became a glider pilot. Having completed his training, he landed in the 1st Air Command Group. In December 1943, he was stationed in India where he, among other things, flew the Chindits and re-supplied them during their Burma campaign. He attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
    Jackie Coogan became especially known by his acting. He played the role of the child in the Charlie Chaplin movie "The Kid" and later he would play Uncle Fester in the televisonseries "The Adams Family" (1964 - 1966).
