    Biography

    Gustav Schwarzenegger was born August 17th, 1907, son of Karl Schwarzenegger and Cecilia Schwarzenegger-Hinterleitner. He was married to Aurelia Jadrny (July 29th, 1922 – August 2nd, 1998) on October 5th, 1945. The couple had two children.
    He served in the Austrian army between 1930 and 1937 and became a police officer in 1937. Even prior to the Anschluss, he became a member of the N.S.D.A.P. (National Socialist German Workers Party) and served briefly in the S.A.
    In november 1939 he enrolled in the Wehrmacht as Hauptfeldwebel in the Feldgendarmerie. He served in Feldgendarmerie-Abteilung 521 (motorisiert), a part of Panzergruppe 4 (later renamed Panzerarmee 4). As a result of injuries he was discharged from military service in October 1944.
    Gustav Schwarzenegger is the father of actor and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 1947 he resumed his work in the Austrian police.
