Awarded in recognition of his personal total of 12 aerial victories as well as the successes of his Staffel. The latter are described in the following excerpt from the magazine “Der Adler”…

“Hauptmann Nacke is a Staffelführer who, through his bravery and decisiveness, has forged the most successful Staffel in his Zerstörergeschwader. Of the 169 enemy aircraft destroyed in the air and a further 37 on the ground by his Gruppe, his Staffel alone was responsible for 75 aerial victories and 19 aircraft destroyed on the ground.”
