From 24th April 1944 to 2nd June 1944, 2nd Lieutenant Nęcki as Officer Commanding workshop platoon at Monte Cassino, was responsible for the repair of recovered Motor Transports of the whole Division.
Carrying out his duties under continuous enemy artillery fire, by his devotion and exertions a steady flow of supplies on the narrow mountain tracks was maintained throughout the Monte Cassino Battle.
During the later phase of the Italian Campaign he followed fighting troops with his platoon carrying out all necessary repairs, as a Motor Transport fitter, he trained Driver-Mechanics for units of the 5 Kresowa Division.
By devoting his excellent professional knowledge to his work, he supplied the Division to a large extent, with efficient tradesmen.
Thanks to his ability and initiative as a technical officer of Headquarters PEME, 5 Kresowa Division, from 10th February 1945, PEME units of the 5 Kresowa Division achieved a notably high technical standard.
He was also primarily responsible for raising the standard of Motor Transport Maintenance".
