Biography

Johan Cornelis Plesman was born on September 8th, 1918 as son to Susanna van Eijk and Albert Plesman, the founder of KLM.

Het served as Reserve-luitenant with the 2e Jachtvliegafdeeling (2e JaVA) at Schiphol in the war of May 1940. During these days in May, Hans Plesman made a total of ten operational sorties with the Fokker D.XXI. During the following German occupation he became a resistance member.

After the Second World War he becam a captain with the KLM and was killed on June 23rd, 1949 at Bari in the crash with Lockheed Constellation "Roermond".
