NORCO. 1   Vehicle wading at Grimsbey took place. Representatives of all the units attended. Captain A.C. Solomon joined Bde H.Q. as B.L.O. from 3 Mon R.
NORCO. 2   Bde Comd attended Trg Conference at Div.
Captain T.G. Richards left Bde H.Q. to take up duties at Norco.
NORCO. 3   Bde Comd visited Cleethorpes with the Div. Comd, Maj. Gen. G.P.B. Roberts, D.S.O. M.C. to see vehicle wading.
2/Lt Honey joined Bde H.Q. as asst. S.O. to Sig. Sec.
NORCO. 4   Ex. Bridlington II on the 4th/5th took place, the 1 Hfds. With cooperation of
29 Armd Bde on the Wolds.
NORCO. 5   The Bde Comd and B.M. visited the 1 Hfds on Ex. Bridlington II at dawn.
Wassand Hall. 6   The Bde Comd held a conference at this H.Q. to discuss coming training (Linnet, Limehouse and Stanford.) All unit Comds attended.
NORCO. 7   Ex. Frederick Uncle III took place, to practice “Q”. The Bde Comd visited the Bde H.Q. in the field during the afternoon on the Wolds.
A.C.W. day was held in at Div. Captain Miller attended.
NORCO. 8   Ex. Frederick Uncle III concluded at midday.
NORCO. 11   A security day was held at Div. Captain A.C. Soloman attended, representing this H.Q. All security officers of Div. were present.
The Div. Rugger final was played in Hull. 2 F&F v 3 Mon., resulting in the 3 Mon. beaten 5 – 2.
The Bde Comd. Attended and presented the cup.
NORCO. 13   3 Polish officers. L.O.’s from the Polish Armd Div. visited this H.Q. They also visited the 3 Lion where a demonstration was put for their benefit.
The Bde Comd. visited the Hull Football ground to see the final of the Inter Unit Soccer Competition between 4 K.S.L.I. and 1 Hfds Result, Hfds 6, K.S.L.I. 1.
NORCO. 14   The advance parties or units arrived in Inverary for Ex. Linnet.
NORCO. 15   The Bde Comd and B.M. motored up to Inverary for Ex. Linnet. (Combined Operations trg. for 10 days.)
A Lantern Lecture was held at Div on Signal Security. Captains Miller and Solomon attended.
The 3 Mon. R. left Hornsea at Midnight for Scotland.
NORCO. 16   The 4 K.L.S.I. and 1 Hfds left Hornsea for Scotland during the day.
NORCO. 17   8 Corps Ex. “TALLY HO” commenced; the Bde H.Q. went out in Skeleton.
The G III, Captain Miller and B.I.O. Captain Solomon, taking part. The Ex. started South of Selby and moved North short of Darlington.
NORCO. 20   Ex. “TALLY HO” concluded.
Wassand Hall 21-22   Ex. “TALLY HO” was continued at Bde H.Q. static location, as part of the wireless deception plan.
Wassand Hall 26   The Bde Comd and B.M. returned from Inverary after attending Ex. Linnet with the three units.
Wasand Hall 28   The Comd and Captain D. Miller (G III) left for London to see units in Limehouse, on Street-Fighting course, and then to Stanford Battle Area to see units doing Field Firing Exercise with cooperation of a Sqn of Tanks.
Each unit will be at Stanford and Limehouse two days each.
The “B” Bde Sp Gp will be at Stanford and Limehouse for the whole period.
