Biography

The dear departed was born in Füchtorf on 5 July 1915. On 3 November 1937, he was called up for military service and received his training in Hanau near Frankfurt am Main. He survived the campaign in the west well and was awarded the Iron Cross II Class for outstanding bravery. On 22 June 1941, he was deployed to the east. On 5 October 1941, he sacrificed his young, hopeful life, far from his home and his loved ones, at the age of 26, for his people and his country. His sincere nature and loyal comradeship earned him great popularity in his regiment. He found his final resting place in the cemetery of honour of the 15th Division, 25 km south of Yeloga. May the commander of the battles welcome him into his kingdom of heaven.
