Biography

During a German air raid on Haamstede airfield, 30-year-old volunteer Leendert Bakker was killed. He had volunteered for the air patrol detachment in 1939. Initially buried at Vredehof in Burgh-Haamstede, he was later reinterred at Grebbeberg Cemetery.

Leendert was a carpenter by profession and was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church.
