May 11th, 1945

A first proposal wasn't handed over by the Korps or did get lost due to the circumstances, second proposal occured after the capitulation and wasn't treated. Although the request to the awarding for the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes was supposed to have been placed in time, it was not entered to the Heerespersonalamt (HPA) before 8-5-1945 and this has not been a formal Ritterkreuz awarding during the Second World War. Within the Bundesarchiv there is only known a written request form the Divisionskommandeur of 24.Panzer-Division to award the requested decorations. Any formal awarding is not known. The case was treated by the Ordenskommission of the OdR in 1982 and decision was :"RK ja, 8-5-1945". Award date later was corrected by Fellgiebel. Formally this would be an unlawfull awarding.
