Hans-Joachim Walter Rudolf Siegfried Marseille was born on December 13th, 1919 geboren as son to Charlotte Marie Johanna Pauline Gertrud Riemer and Siegfried Georg Martin Marseille.

In 382 operational sorties, Marseillehas supposed to have shot down 158 enemy aircraft. This number is still under debate due to the differences between German claims and reported losses by the Allies.
