Biography

Pierre Louis baron d’Aulnis de Bourouill was born in Delft in 1918. In 1938 het went to the university in Leiden, but was drafter in the DUtch Army at the beginning of the Second World War. He was mobilized with the Anti Aircraft units and placed near the Hague. After the fightings were over he went back to study in Leiden, but was soon involved in resistence work. After a short period het fleed to England and was placed with the Prinses Irene Brigade as 2ns Lieutenant.

With help of Prins Bernhard he was trained as Secret Agent and was dropped over the Netherlands in 1943. Here he organised the collecting of vital military information for the Allies. After June 6th 1944 the work as Secret Agent became very dangerous. This was partly due to the England Spiel. Baron d’Aulnis de Bourouill was called back to england, but got no further than Brussels. He returned to the Netherlands and kept doing his work as Secret Agent till the end of the war.
