Awarded for his actions at Tilly on the 15.06.1944. At some point during the battle the British achieved a penetration into the frontline that triggered a critical situation for the Germans. In response Major Brandt launched a counterattack with an ad-hoc group and eliminated the British tanks with concentrated charges, AT mines and Panzerfausts. A British breakthrough here was prevented and Tilly held.
