Waldemar Söffing in front of his Fw 190 fighter

Waldemar Söffing himself was shot down with his Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-5, Werknr. 7375, Weisse 3, on July 28th, 1943 at Hania's polder in the community of Dubbeldam, about 2,5 km south of the village Dubbeldam. He succeeded in making an emergency landing.
He shot down the Hawker Tempest with Hughbert Bailey on February 22nd, 1945. Although wounded, Bailey managed to escape by parachute.
