01.07.1939: Oberleutnant, transferred from I. of K/88 Legion Condor to KG 55
17.08.1940: Oberleutnant - Beobachter, appointed Staka 4./KG 55
21.07.1941: MIA during a raid on Moscow, when the He 111 H-16 coded 'SF+QP' from 4./ II./ KG.55 flown by Oberfeldwebel Heinrich Hänel was shot down on the evening by Captain Konstantin Nikolaewitsch Titenkov (Константин Николаевич Титенков) of 11st IAP piloting a Yak-1 over Zwenigorod (version 1) or by AA in the vicinity of Dorogobuzh, NE of Smolensk (version 2). Entire crew probably taken as POW by the soviets.
