Biography
According to some sources, Jacob Lobmeyer was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes as Kommandeur SS-Jagdpanzer-Abteilung 561 with the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer, on April 10th, 1945 for actions in Berlin. Beisded that he was supposed to have been awarded the DKiG on March 15th, 1945 and the Eichenlaub zum Ritterkreuz on May 2nd, 1945. These awardings however however are unconfirmed by any formal evidence.
There are two possibilities it was a legal award: - via a proposal on official channels to Chef HPA Burgdorf, - direct award by Hitler; unfortunately no proof in the Bundesarchiv files
Towards the RK: award date by Krätschmer : "20.04.1945" ; remark by von Seemen : "bestowal based on radio message by K.G. V. SS-AK Jeckeln".
