    Biography

    Dietrich Koch was releaved from the Wehrmacht on 31st December 1943 for not being able to act as military. He had finally reached the rank of Oberleutnant der Reserve.

    Awarded for his success as a Panzerjäger commander in the 18. Panzer-Division. On the 30.01.1942 the Soviets launched a major attack against the weak German positions in the area of Koch’s Abteilung. During this attack Koch directed his guns without regard for his own safety, and in the combat on this day he defeated an enemy tank attack all on his own. He personally knocked out 9 enemy tanks with a Pak 38 and forced 2 more to retreat in a very short time.
