    Biography

    Major Roland von Hößlin, Kavallerie-Regiment 17 was executed on 13th October 1944, for his involvement in the plot to asassinate Adolf Hitler on 22nd July 1944.

    Roland is the brother of Hartmut von Hößlin and the son of Hubert von Hößlin.

    During the fighting in North Africa in 1942, Hauptmann Hößlin would be appointed as the acting commander of the Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 33. In this capacity he and his unit succeeded in recapturing a fortified position from the British, taking 300 prisoners in the process. For this action he would be awarded the Knight’s Cross.
