Biography

Wilhelm Sander served from October 1938 onwards in several Panzerjäger Abteilungen and he was seriously injured
on June 29th 1941 at the Eastern front. After Wilhelm recovered from his wounds he returned to the 1. Panzerjägerabteilung 370.
Fahnenjunker-Feldwebel Sander was killed in action near Melitopol on October 24th 1943.
He was posthumous awarded with the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross and promoted to Lieutenant.
Wilhelm Sander is listed in the memory book at the military cemetery in Sologubowka.
Wilhelm Sander was the younger brother of Otto Sander and the older brother of Werner Sander.
