He was the local leader of the Dutch Labour Party in Wervershoof. Langedijk was involved in the housing of people in hiding, the provision of ration cards and the distribution of the local illegal newspaper De Nieuwspomp, also known as Pijpje Drop. The Green Police arrested him in his home on 25 January 1945. He was transferred to Medemblik for the initial interrogation, then to the detention centre in Alkmaar and on 12 February 1945 to the detention centre on Weteringschans in Amsterdam. He was executed by firing squad along with 52 other Todeskandidaten (death candidates) in retaliation for the attack on SS-Befehlshaber Hanns Albin Rauter. Among the victims were three more employees of the LO-Wervershoof: Nicolaas Akkerman, Johannes Lodder and Petrus Antonius Stokhof.
The names of the four resistance fighters are listed on the monument on Raadhuisplein in Wervershoof.
