Biography

François Guéguen joined the 'FFL' (Free French Legion) in Great Britain on 8th august 1942 and joined the parachustist in October at Cambarley.
Between February 1942 and August 1943 he took part in Course No. 46 at Largo and Hardwick. He was promoted to 'soldat 1ère Classe' on 8th August. He took part in 'France' with 4th SAS. Between 9th and 12th June het took part in the second wave in 'Samwest'. With 4th FFI het took part in operation 'Grog' on 25th June 1944 and between 26th August and 14th September 1944 with 1st Squadron in operation 'Spenser', where he was wounded by a granade shrapnel on 1st September. With 20/HQ Squadron, 4th SAS he took part in operation 'Amherst' from 4th april 1945 where he once again was wounded.
