Oberleutnant Jäger distinguished himself during combat against a fortified massif of the Metaxas line while in command of an 8.8 cm Flak Zug. He and his men were able to knock out 30 bunkers, 8 armoured cupolas and 12 other various targets. For this he would be decorated with the Knight’s Cross.
