"On the night of the 25/26 October 1942, when the Battalion was attacking point 94 in the NUNASSUB DEPRESSION, Major Pullinger was commanding "B" Company. After a dashing assault the Company reached the high ground where it was held up by heavy fire from both flanks, and suffered casualties. This was soon intensified with mortars and artillery and the position was becoming critical. Major Pullinger was seen walking amongst his men, encouraging them with his leadership and dash until they charged the position and bayoneted several enemy, Major Pullinger himself in the ***** hand grenade, thrown by him, was responsible for another two. Major Pullinger then collected his Company with extreme coolness, and while still under heavy ***** with the Company on his right, the Platoon Commander next to him having been killed. He immediately took command of this platoon, inspiring the men and *** to advance. This platoon then stormed the final enemy ***** [whole section unreadable]

(...) to the Italians in Italian to come and surrender. They did and the total prisoners numbered over 700. This was entirely due to Major Pullinger's coolness, throught and prompt action.
