“Ritterkreuz for an Obergefreiter:

The Führer awarded the Knight’s Cross to Obergefreiter Wilhelm Klöpping. Klöpping (a machine-gunner in a Panzergrenadier Kompanie) entered into an enemy defensive position near the Lower Don with his squad. Here he seized 7 strongly fortified strongpoints and defended them for 3 days long.”
