The following wartime excerpt (dated 17.02.1945) describes why Krugner received the Knight’s Cross…

“On the 05.02.1945 the Abteilung penned a Knight’s Cross recommendation for Unteroffizier Krugner (of the 1./Pz.Jäg.Abt. 17) and sent it up the higher commands through the 342. Infanterie-Division. This recommendation was for his destruction of 11 enemy tanks in the Glogau bridgehead on the 02.-03.02.1945.”
