“Oberleutnant Zonewitz has frequently proven himself to be one of the outstanding Kompanie commanders of his Regiment during the campaign in the East. Especially noteworthy were his personal actions during the landing on Muhu island. His bold decision to outflank the enemy’s strongly defended position with only a few men from his Kompanie led to a total success, and this action would be of crucial importance for the continued assault on the island.”
