Biography

Staff-sergeant in 1939, his unit was stationed in Algiers during the Armistice of 1940. He decided to join Gibraltar, then joined Great Britain by boat on July 17, 1940. He was enlisted in the Free French Air Forces (FAFL ). It participates with the GRB1 bombing group in the battle of Koufra. Bombardment aviator, section and training chief, he took part in the campaigns in Italy, France and Germany; he ended the war as captain, squadron commander. He continued his career in the Air Force. In December 1956, he took command of a helicopter squadron in Boufarik (Algeria). Despite his command responsibilities, he himself took part in numerous air missions. He was killed on September 3, 1957, when his aircraft was shot down by enemy rebels in the Medea region.
