Memorial Battle of La Rothière

The Battle of La Rothière was fought on 1 February 1814 between the French Empire and an allied army (Russians, Austrians, Prussians and Germans) under the command of Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher and resulted in a French retreat. The losses on the Allied side were between 6000 and 7000 men (dead, wounded, missing and captured). The French side had about 4600 casualties (dead and wounded). 1000 French soldiers were also captured, as well as 73 French guns.
