Grave of Julián Sánchez García el Charro

Julián Sánchez García el Charro (1771-1832) was a well-known guerrilla and Spanish military in the Peninsular War, which took place from 1808 to 1814 between the Spanish, Portuguese and British on the one hand and the French under command of Napoleon on the other side.

The inscription reads : "Esta guerrilla y el ejercito sabrán defender hasta el último aliento su religión, su legítmo y amado rey y la libertad de la patria"
