Italian War Graves & Wall of Remembrance Orbetello

This cemetery contains countless graves of generals, marshals and other officers, including Maresciallo dell'Aria Italo Balbo was killed when his plane was downed over Libya.

There are also memorial walls for those without a grave:
"Il mare non li restitui
La terra non li accolse"

Translation:
The sea did not return them
The earth did not welcome them
