Aldershot Military Cemetery

This military cemetery is one-of-a-kind in the United Kingdom. There are currently 17,000 graves of fallen soldiers and war veterans of different conflicts, including the world wars and the Falkands War.

Aldershot Military Cemetery contais the grave of Field Marshal Sir Henry Evelyn Wood, VC, GCB, GCMG (1838-1919), who served his country in may campaigns in including the Crimean War and as commander in the First Boer War (1880-1881). He was awarded the Victoria Cross.

Aldershot Military Cemetery contains the graves of the following people, who fought for the United Kingdom and who gave their lives in the War in Afghanistan and/or Operation Enduring Freedom:

07 May 2009 , Corporal Kumar Pun, aged 31
12 June 2009 , Lieutenant Paul Daniel Mervis, aged 27
12 August 2010 , Rifleman Remand Kulung, aged 27
02 October 2010 , Rifleman Suraj Gurung, aged 22
