This memorial (Monument aux Morts) within the Église de Saint-Jean-Baptiste commemorates the residents of Marseillan who gave their lives in World War I, including captain Jean Marie Louis Emmanuel Mafre de Gaugé, commander of the 1e Compagnie du Quatrième Régiment mixte de Zouaves Tirailleurs, who was killed on 25 September 1915.
