Memorial Halifax II W7714 Scharnegoutum

Halifax II W7714 LQ-K, took off on 29 june 1942 at 2306 hrs from Pocklington to bomb Bremen. Shot down by a night-fighter and crashed 0214 at Scharnegoutum (Friesland) 13 km SSW of Leeuwarden, Holland. F/Sgt Philp is buried in Dearsum Protestant churchyard. The rest of the crew have no known grave. It's possible that they haven't been recovered form the wreck.
