Memorials 609 Squadron RAAF

There are two memorial plaques to commemorate 609 Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force. 609 squadron was based at this airfield between 1936 and 1951. The squadron covered the evacuation of Dunkirk, took part in the Battle of Britain, and supported the Normandy landings on D-Day.
