Fairfield on the Thames National Historic Site

This very small museum, at the Fairfield on the Thames National Historic Site, is dedicated to the history of Fairfield on the Thames (Moraviantown) which was destroyed during the Battle of the Thames (also known as the Battle of Moraviantown), which took place on 5 October 1813 during the War of 1812. The village was destroyed by American troops who wrongly accused the inhabitants of sheltering British officers.

At the Fairfield on the Thames National Historic Site is a reproduction of one of the cottages of Fairfield on the Thames (Moraviantown) which were destroyed during the battle. The main street of the village is also reconstructed.

For current visiting hours, please contact the museum.
