Canon Herman Siebert

This is a 8.8 cm rapid-fire cannon from the German auxiliary minesweeper HERMAN SIEBERT. This ship sunk to the north-west of Vlieland on 1 but 1918, together with the OEVELGONNE and the torpedo boat A57. The ships ran in a minefield. The gun was made by the well-known weapon manufacturer Krupp from Essen. 26 people were killed in the ship disaster.
