Memorial Victims of Schouwen-Duiveland

This memorial at the Nieuwe Kerk is in memory of the 227 victims of the Second World War. The names of 218 victims were found. One plaque is completely dedicated to residents of Zierikzee. The other two are listed in alphabetical order of the victims from the villages. In total, the war claimed 227 dead. The nine missing names are remembered at the bottom with the meaning that these inhabitants were killed in enemy service.
