Commemorative Plates Second World War Markegem

These commemorative plates are dedicated to:

- The Belgian soldiers of the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th Infantry Regiments who fell in this area during the 18 Days' Campaign of May 1940.

- The Belgian soldiers of the 9th Infantry Regiment and the 19th Line Regiment who fell at Markegem on 26 May 1940 during the 18 Days' Campaign of May 1940 .

- The inhabitants of Markegem who served in Napoleon’s army and fell in the Napoleonic Wars from 1803 to 1815.
