Belgian War Graves Gits

The cemetery of Gits contains a tombstone with the graves of four civilians who were executed by the Germans on 19 October 1914. It concerns AERENS Désiré, DE JONCKHEERE Odiel, ROELENS Michiel and VANDEVIJVERE Octaaf.
Beneath this tombstone is a memorial stone in remembrance of eight other executed civilians: BEUZE Felix, DELEU Hendrik, DEVOS Clemens, LIEVENS Remi, VANNESTE Lodewijk, VERGOTE Victor, WERBROUCK Victor, WIJDOOGHE Julius.
