War Memorial Poncelle

Simple monument in quarry stone.

On the massive column there are 5 pictures with 3 names each.

On August 22, 1914, Poncelle suffered greatly from the arrival of the German troops. The village was set on fire, three quarters destroyed and many residents were executed.

On the base of the monument is also a gray memorial stone:
"Memory of the Cuirassiers
of the 5th Reg. 3rd esc.
fallen here on May 10, 1940 "
On May 10, 1940, a battle took place in Poncelle between French Panzer troops and German troops, four French soldiers were killed on the territory of the village.
