War Memorial Belgian Transport Corps

The monument, in the extension of the Ruiterijlaan, is dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Transport Corps. It is a stela by Dolf Ledel, inaugurated in 1934.

At the top is a bronze plate in relief with the inscriptions in both national languages below:
"1914 – 1918
Aux morts des corps des transports
To the dead of the transport corps
1940 – 1945"

Below that:
MXXVIII Viri fortes
mortui sunt
pro patria"

Translated: "1,028 brave men died for the fatherland"
