Memorial Ernst Thälmann
Ernst Thälmann was a German politician in the Weimar Republic.
He was the chairman of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and was a candidate for the Reichstag elections in March 1933
He was arrested just before the elections and after 11 years in prison he was murdered in 1944. Presumably by a direct order from Hitler.
