This dragon's teeth barrier (Höckerlinie) was part of the German Westwall (Siegfried-Line) and is build in order of the Aachen-Saar-Programm 1939.
One of the most striking relics of war at Hollerather Knie is a system of tank barriers. The front four-lane ‘bump line’ dates from 1938. The rear line corresponds to the five-lane, more recent construction from 1939. Its individual reinforced concrete modules consist of rectangular frames 13.45 metres wide sunk into the ground. The four crossbars are each equipped with five humps between 80 and 150 cm high. At the end of 2016, Cologne artist Dr. Ralf Peters applied the first nine articles of Immanuel Kant's late work ‘Perpetual Peace’ (1795) in white stencil lettering to the humps of this section.
Kant's work is considered the foundation of liberalism and idealism in international relations, inspired the development of modern peace movements and influenced the formation of international institutions such as the United Nations.
