Memorial Municipal Cemetery Hollandscheveld

This plaque commemorates the nine allies that are buried in this cemetery.

It also commemorates Albert Albino, an American pilot who crashed on the Hoogeveen Railway station in 1943. Until 1979, he was missing, his body was found in 1979 during ground works. The remains were transferred to the United States and he was buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Portland Oregon.
