Führer Headquarters "Wolfsschlucht II"

"Wolfsschlucht II" was the codename of one of thet Führer headquarters in Europe. The complex consisted of muntion bunkers, casemats and a central Führer bunker spread over an area of 5 km. The complex was constructed in 1942 as part of the preperation for Operation "Seelöwe" (the planned German invasion of Great Britain). Adolf Hitler used "Wolfsschlucht II" only one time in his life (between 16 and 17 June 1944) for a meeting with Field Marshals Rommel and Von Rundstedt about the Normandy Front. Marshall Model spend 10 days here overseeing his armies on the Western Front.
