This museum exhibiting mostly modern photography is named after the famous Budapest-born war photographer Robert Capa (1913-1954) whose real name was Endre Ernő Friedmann.
Robert Capa was active as a photographer during the Spanish Civil War, World War II and in Vietnam, among others. Among his most famous shots are his photo of the falling soldier during the Spanish Civil War and the shots he took on D-Day during the first wave of attacks on Omaha Beach.
The museum also houses a permanent exhibition on Robert Capa's life, vision and work.
