War memorial "Women in resistance"

In the park in front of the town hall there is a monument that commemorates the resistance of women from Oegstgeest during the Second World War.

The monument ‘Women in Resistance’ in Oegstgeest is a sculpture of hardened glass. Eight blue glass plates together form a flame that is lit from below. The glass sculpture is placed on a black pedestal. A few meters next to the statue is an information sign.

The statue was made by artist Jan Wolkers.
